This move underscores Musk's willingness to use the legal system to avoid going through with the deal, which has made Twitter shares more unstable but also to gain back his rep in Silicon Valley circles.

Elon Musk subpoenas Jack Dorsey
Elon Musk has subpoenaed friend and former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey in the latest development in the smouldering legal battle over the acquisition of the social-media company.
According to Bloomberg, the filing with Delaware's Court of Chancery was just the latest in what has been a steady flood of document requests between the two sides - Musk and the company - ahead of an October trial that will end up deciding whether Musk is forced to follow through on the $44B acquisition of the company to which he agreed.
Many of the discovery filings in the case have been under seal. But both sides have expanded the list of subpoenas to include a wide cast of characters that also now includes Holocene Advisors, D.E. Shaw, and Discord - likely part of Musk attempts to get hold of messages about the deal (along with seeking documents from Signal and iMessage).
Twitter stock is down 2.1% Monday to $43.06, now about a 21% discount from Musk's committed deal price of $54.20 per share.

Apple's Self Service Repair for Mac
After more than a decade, Apple said that users can now repair their Mac books themselves.
Apple announced Self Service Repair will be available today for MacBook Air and MacBook Pro notebooks with the M1 family of chips, providing repair manuals and genuine Apple parts and tools through the Apple Self Service Repair Store.
Self Service Repair for iPhone launched earlier this year and the program will expand to additional countries — beginning in Europe — as well as additional Mac models later this year.
Self-Service Repair for MacBook Air and MacBook Pro offers more than a dozen different repair types for each model, including the display, top case with battery, and trackpad, with more to come.
Customers who are experienced with the complexities of repairing electronic devices will be able to complete repairs on these Mac notebooks, with access to many of the same parts and tools available to Apple Store locations and Apple Authorized Service Providers.
To start the Self Service Repair process, a customer will first review the repair manual for the product they want to repair by visiting support.apple.com/self-service-repair. Then, they can visit the Apple Self-Service Repair Store and order the necessary parts and tools.

Ford cut 3,000 jobs
Ford Motor is cutting about 3,000 jobs from its global workforce, as the automaker attempts to lower costs as part of restructuring efforts under CEO Jim Farley.
CNBC reports that Ford began notifying workers of the cuts on Monday, a company spokesman confirmed. The cuts will include 2,000 salaried positions and 1,000 agency jobs in the U.S., Canada and India, Farley and Ford Chairman Bill Ford said in a message to employees.
“Building this future requires changing and reshaping virtually all aspects of the way we have operated for more than a century. It requires focus, clarity and speed. And, as we have discussed in recent months, it means redeploying resources and addressing our cost structure, which is uncompetitive versus traditional and new competitors,” the message reads.
Ford’s cost-cutting actions are the latest in a series of efforts by companies to reduce costs and employee headcount amid fears of a potential recession or economic softening, with inflation hovering near a 40-year high.

YouTube's big podcast move
TechCrunch reports that yesterday, YouTube confirmed the new podcasts destination is now live for U.S. users after the URL was discovered to be live ahead of any formal announcement.
The dedicated podcast page went live sometime last month and is now linked, at least for some users, on YouTube’s existing Explore page alongside other top destinations like Gaming, Sports, Learning, Fashion and others. It did not appear in the website’s sidebar navigation, however.
“The podcast destination page on YouTube helps users explore new and popular podcast episodes, shows and Creators, as well as recommend podcast content,” said YouTube spokesperson, Paul Pennigton. “It’s currently available in the U.S. only.”
