In a bid to enhance the search for love, a new app has been launched which is supposed to match verified Twitter users with each other. “Blue, by Loveflutter, has launched a new version of the existing dating app that only allows Twitter users with that little tick to search for love among fellow blue-tick holders,” TechCrunch reported.
Loveflutter, a dating start up which has been in existence since 2013, has been changing strategies to make love matches among people possible. From matches made from people with shared interests, it switched tactics to enable its users to link their Twitter accounts to their profile so potential lovers can see tweets and get a glimpse into each other’s personality.
Blue is yet another version created with the principle of finding love among your own kind. The only setback could be the small size of the kind in question. According to Twitter’s report in 2016, of the 310 M monthly users on Twitter, only 187,000 (0.6%) are verified. A survey carried out in 2015 showed that 25% of the 187,000 are from the world of media and journalism.
Looking at this figures and bearing in mind the many other avenues for finding love, the future of Blue is unknown, as the report says that the app will only go live in a location when it gets 1000 local members.
In the above report from Twitter, Tina Bhatnagar, Twitter’s VP of User Services, said that the verification of Twitter accounts was to assist people finding great, high quality accounts to follow, and for these creators and influencers to connect with a broader audience. It was made for celebrities, journalists, athletes, politicians and other high-profile figures that are likely to be impersonated on Twitter. Being verified lets people know that an account of public interest is authentic.
The dating app is said to roll out in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, London and Tokyo. You can check out the app on Google store or the App store.
