Facebook is now offering users (beginning with the US) the opportunity of creating fundraisers directly on Facebook to support their birthday causes. This form of giving back is inspired by the observation that people often use their birthdays to support a cause and could use Facebook to raise money for such causes.
On Wednesday the company announced a revamp of its Birthday feature with a view of making it more meaningful and impacting. Two features will be showing up on Birthday; Giving Back and Video Wishes.
Facebook is arguably the social media platform where everyone is easily welcome; easy to use and suited for all ages. Its popularity cannot be overemphasized; by far the most popular social media platform, with its shares currently soaring making its founder and CEO 2017’s highest earner and an unprecedented volume of active usage.
The platform has in recent times zoned in on offering products and features that hold more practical meaning and usefulness for relationships and communities anchored on its new mission statement released in June of “bringing the world closer together”.

With over 45 million people giving birthday wishes on Facebook daily, this is surely a welcome addition to Facebook Birthdays.
