According to the organisers, this conference is premised on providing superior content to audiences on emerging issues in the Fintech space. It is coming on the heels of the hugely successful 1st edition that was held April last year.  The last edition was attended by participants cutting across various industries and from over 20 countries across different continents.

This is a good start for the Fintech space which witnessed a significant boost in the past year. Recall that two Nigerian startups, Flutterwave, a payments company and Riby, a financial management app made the 2017 list of the annual Fintech 100 (a list of the most innovative Fintech companies across the globe) report compiled by KPMG and H2 Ventures.

According to the KPMG report, the industry enjoyed a total of  $24.6b investment in-flow in 2016 while the PWC report has projected a 20% ROI growth in 2018.  Similarly, the FinTech Trends Report for the 3rd quarter of 2017 indicated that FinTech companies closed 496 deals worth $8billion in the first half of 2017.
