In preparation for the 2018 National Computer Society’s (NCS) National Conference, the NCS President, Professor Sola Aderounmu on the official twitter handle of the NCS announced that the theme for the 2018 National Conference is “Digital Inclusion: Opportunities, Challenges and strategies.”

The conference is a yearly program of the NCS, the National body of IT professionals in Nigeria. This year’s conference, which will be the 27th edition, is set to hold between July 17 – 19, 2018. It will address main industry issues such as practical realities and needs, emerging issues, innovations, best practices, stakeholder roles and future sustainability.
With a focus on relevance and enabling valued driven impact, the conference will profer measures to the urgent need to diversify the economy away from dependence on oil and improve economic performance.
The NCS also called for papers for the conference. Authors are required to submit an original, unpublished work for publication, which may also be presented at the National Conference. Expected papers are to focus on the following topics:
- Tech Start-ups, SME’s and Youth Entrepreneurship
- FinTech, e-commerce and Financial Inclusion
- Cybersecurity: Awareness, Threat Protection and Digital Rights
- Digital Literacy, Knowledge Culture and Human Development
- E-voting and Election Management
- Digital Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women
