The creative space, it was noted, is for everyone with an interest in leveraging the tech ambience to drive innovative solutions not only for the Nigerian tech ecosystem but for the continent and the globe at large.
According to Ime Archibong, Facebook’s Vice President of Partnerships,
“Technology provides opportunities to engage young, creative and resourceful Nigerians, especially in delivering solutions to challenges across communities here in Nigeria. The mission is to build community and bring the world closer together, NG_Hub provides that and will serve as a centre of learning and skills development in Lagos, and I’m excited about the possibilities that this will create.”

Alongside this launch, Facebook has drawn out a list of other programmes to engage the tech and business community in the country as well as reach across other parts of the country. These include:
- FBstartup Accelerator Program: A 6-month research and mentorship programme for resident teams (Onside) and students in their respective schools(Offside) to offer tools and support needed to launch their innovations in different areas.
- Digify Pro: A 2-month boot camp focused on creating digital marketing professionals which are in furtherance of Facebook plans to train and support 50,000 people interested in digital skills.
- Boost Your Business –A one-day training designed to teach small business owners digital marketing skills.
- #SheMeansBusiness – A one-day training workshop for female entrepreneurs which will offer a mix of business and digital marketing training.
Speaking at the launch, Bosun Tijani, CEO of CcHub said,
“The Hub is special not because of this space for people to use it, but rather because this space comes with a lot of expertise that Nigerians can take advantage of. Technology goes way beyond money, it gives us the chance to build things that can change out society, and if we don’t have the expertise to put the technology into good use, we won’t be able to take advantage of it and thats why this hub is special.”
