Global professional service company, Accenture, has opened applications for its HealthTech Innovation Challenge, which aims to bring HealthTech startups, life sciences companies and healthcare organizations together to improve the way people access and manage healthcare.
Currently, in its third year, the challenge identifies and engage with cutting-edge startups with a focus on solving healthcare and life sciences problems and is a part of Accenture’s broader HealthTech Innovation program which also includes- acceleration and venture opportunities, innovation labs, through which innovations and technologies are supported.
This year’s challenge seeks to solve some of the biggest issues in healthcare, which are:
- Wellness and Prevention: Minimizing hospital visits, wellness/lifestyle management, remote care delivery models, social determinates of health and better education.
- Digital Health Solutions: This category aims at delivering the best outcomes by leveraging digital health solutions, including telehealth artificial intelligence, digital clinical trials, blockchain, internet of things, drones, digital pills, 3D printing, and real-world evidence.
- Healthcare Services: Solutions should be able to provide effective healthcare through office/patient management; cost transparency/payments; strategic sourcing; health records; care coordination; and enterprise workflow.
Startups should ensure that the solutions provided should address the solution’s innovation, design quality, disruptive business model, the potential impact on patient outcomes, and scalability.

Selected applicants will be invited to compete in one of regional rounds in Sydney, Tokyo, Dublin or Boston where they will be judged by an esteemed panel of leading life sciences and healthcare company executives. Upon being chosen, finalists would have the opportunity to network and build-deeper relationships with peers, investors, leading influencers, dynamic industry-shapers and industry innovators and also foster collaboration and co-innovation. Finalists would also be given media exposure as partners to the program as well as invitation to pitch and compete in San Francisco at the Startup Health Festival in January 2019.
