Leadership, Effectiveness, Accountability & Professionalism (LEAP) Africa has opened applications for its 2018 Social Innovators Programme & Awards (SIPA). Targeted at young Nigerian entrepreneurs, the programme is designed to provide them with the requisite skills and effective tools for building sustainable enterprises.

Just like every other edition, this year’s SIPA would run for a year and is in partnership with Union Bank who would be providing business advisory services and mentorship opportunities to enable these young change-makers to transform their social change ideas into actual ventures.

20 social entrepreneurs would be selected for the programme and they would participate in series of activities such as training sessions (both physical and online), mentorship, provision of local & international funding and partnership opportunities. These entrepreneurs would be selected based on their innovation’s impact on solving challenges present in local communities across Nigeria., sustainability, and experience.

The initiatives of Fellows would cover (but not limited to) various aspects of the society, such as Agriculture, Youth Empowerment, Education, Science & Technology, Health ,and others.

Since the key objective of the programme is to empower and equip young Nigerian entrepreneurs, applicants must be between the ages of 18-35 years. Applicants must be founders of a socially-focused enterprise and also make sure that their enterprise has been on for over 1 year prior to the commencement of the programme.

The 2018/2019 fellowship cycle for SIPA begins in November 2018 and ends November 2019. Applications are currently open till 31st July 2018.
