Tech Events this Week: Summer of Code, Big Data in Politics, African Youth Entrepreneurship Summit, and More


It’s a new week loaded with a number of events you wouldn’t want to miss. We, at Technext, have curated a list of upcoming tech events that you might want to be a part of.

This list includes tech events coming up between July 30th and August 5th, 2018.

Enugu Summer of Code and Robotics

Enugu summer of code and robotics is a project-based, computer training for children to teach them different areas of technology. These Includes 3D Printing, Laser Engraving, Game Design, Robotic, Building of Radio, Web Design and Sports. There would also be a Demo Day where parents would present their projects to parents.

Venue: 5 First Avenue, Enugu

Date: Mon. 30th July  – Sat. 1st September 2018.

Time: 9:30 am.

Big Data in Politics/Governance

The Big In Politics is a seminar on how people can use technology to harness their power as mandates for any political aspirant, thoughts, and policies. It seeks to attract Political stakeholders, Industry stakeholders, Government stakeholders, The Media and Political Science students.

Venue: CITC Learning Centre, Ikeja, Lagos.

Date: Tuesday 31st July

Cheetah Africa Launch – FinTech and Blockchain Conference

Cheetah Africa is a platform for Venture Capitalists and Investors across Africa to access the best of African ideas and innovations. It is a platform for emerging startups with innovative and realistic ideas and projects in the Fintech and Blockchain industry to get exposed to the industry stakeholders as well as provide an opportunity for these ideas and projects to get funded.

Kotlin Night Lagos

Kotlin Night is a meetup that includes talks on Kotlin and related technologies. Its for tech inclined people both newbies and professionals to the sweet kotlin programming language to discuss on Android and Server-side development with kotlin.

DIGITEST is an annual creative camp and competition where young minds between the ages of 8 – 18 years are being equipped with the requisite Information and Communication skills to becoming valuable human manpower and asset that will drive the social and economic activities of the country.

Venue: OAU International School, Osun.

Date: Sunday, 5th – Saturday 17th August 2018.

Time: 7 am.
