Nigerians Roast Banky W on Twitter, Oby Ezekwesili’s Withdrawal and other Stories that Rocked Social Media Last Week

President Buhari dropped the hammer big time on the head of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen by suspending him and immediately appointing a replacement, Tanko Mohammed.

Accordingly, I hereby suspend the Honourable Mr. Justice Walter Nkanu Samuel Onnoghen, GCON as the Chief Justice of Nigeria pending final determination of the case against him at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

Nigerians took to social media to call out the president for not following due process and it was all regular bickering until Banky W entered and supported an opinion which didn’t go down with many Nigerians.

Internationally acclaimed musician and actor Banky W doesn’t understand the concept of the separation of powers and why the sanctity of that simple concept is the foundation upon which true democracy rests.

The irony? I hear he’s contesting to become a law maker.

Someone even accused Mr Capable of collecting N57 million to stylishly do PR for Buhari to which he replied:

But was Banky W’s assessment so wrong or was he just a victim of angry Nigerian youths who would rather pull their fellow youths down than help him into a position where he can influence change?

During the week, WhatsApp suffered a glitch around the globe, leaving users unable to send messages, but somehow Nigerians were not affected.

This outage comes just hours after the platform announced that it would be restricting the number of shares for users worldwide. The move was aimed at limiting hoaxes and rumours that could lead to violence.

Oby Ezekwesili Shocks Nigerians, Withdraws From The Presidential Race

Presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Madam Oby Ezekwesili shocked Nigerians when she announced her withdrawal from the 2019 presidential race.

Many Nigerians were not happy about it, as they feel she used the party to gather funds from the public.

But Madam Ezekwesili appears not to have read the election guidelines because INEC would later reject her withdrawal because the deadline for withdrawal of any candidate was on November 17 of last year.
