Another week has ended but it has not been a good one for Nigerians because of the xenophobic attacks in South Africa. Videos that circulated on social media sent Nigerians into a sad mood.

The violence that broke out in South Africa sparked angry reactions across Nigeria and most of it was expressed on social media as seen below:
Nigerian celebrities also took to social media to express their anger about the attacks and some showed solidarity with Nigeria by cancelling proposed events in South Africa.
Nigerian music stars Burna Boy and Tiwa Savage cancelled shows in South Africa till further notice. Savage said she would no longer be performing at an upcoming concert in South Africa. She said the xenophobic attacks provoked the decision.
Many Nigerians pointed out that reactions by celebrities on social media and cancellation of events would not solve the problem but rather an action from Mr President who promised to send a special envoy.
Nigerians have called his reaction slow and weak.
While we await feedback from the special envoy, the attacks triggered widespread looting of South African brands in Nigeria.
A lot of Nigerians called out the looting and pointed out that the people affected most by the reprisal attacks are our own people working with them.
Outlets belonging to South African mobile company MTN were also vandalised in different cities which led to their temporary closure.
Many other stores owned by Nigerians were also plundered in the raids which is really not encouraging. We can’t be fighting ourselves.
In all, this is not a good one because we are all Africans, so love should lead. We say no to the xenophobic attacks.
Social Media Reacts as Former Zimbabwean Leader Robert Mugabe Dies at 95
Robert Mugabe, the former president of Zimbabwe and African liberation leader, has died at the age of 95.

This was confirmed by President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, who was elected after Mugabe stepped down following a military coup.
The whole of social media has been filled with condolence messages.
Some shared what they could remember about him.
Others felt the niceties were a show of fake love because he was really hated when he was alive.
He was the world’s oldest ruler when he resigned in 2017. Well, a dead man is a dead man whether liked or disliked. May his soul rest in peace.
Thank you for journeying with us on this week’s roundup. Do have a great weekend.
