Weeks after we reported that the parent company of Cars45, Frontier Cars Group, raised a US$400 million Series D round, Cars45 has expanded its operations to Ghana and Kenya.
Cars45 is an online marketplace for people to buy, sell or swap used cars. Its services in Nigeria include car inspection before listing. Cars listed on the online platform come graded from A to E based on the quality of the car.
From the grading, buyers can select whatever suits their needs and falls within their budget. This not only reduces fraudulent trade deals on the platform, it helps sellers match their cars more effectively to prospective buyers. According to founder, Etop Ikpe, this will make buying and selling cars more seamless for all concerned.
“We want to connect buyers and sellers across the continent in the most seamless way, taking the stress out of the trading experience. After successfully establishing ourselves in Nigeria, expanding into Ghana and Kenya made perfect sense as the ideal next step as we build a transparent and fair structure for trading cars on the continent.”Etop Ikpe
Among other services, Cars45 will also provide vehicle financing, background checks, vehicle history, insurance, after-sales support, servicing and other services that consumers will need.
“The process of buying and selling cars today can be complicated, time-consuming and needlessly expensive. We want to put an end to that by providing an easy and convenient way for consumers across Africa to make what is often the most significant financial transaction of their lives.”Etop Ikpe
Cars45 is working to secure its operations in both countries based on its track record of being a trusted used cars platform in Nigeria. Its services can be accessed in Ghana here and in Kenya here.
