Hi guys, how’s the weekend going? Quite a lot happened this week on social media. One of the biggest topics on social media this week is the arrest of popular Instagram celebrity, Hushpuppi, by the Interpol.
Raymond Igbalode, who is popularly known as Hushpuppi, was arrested in Dubai over allegations of fraud and money laundering of over $100million which was supposed to be given to Native Americans during the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Hushpuppi who claims to be a real estate agent and his fraud syndicate were said to have been on the radar of the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) for a while now.

Sugabelly, the self-acclaimed President of #SayNoToRape on Twitter
Popular Twitter user, @sugabelly made a thread this week on how she pioneered the atmosphere of rape victims coming to tell their own story and getting support on social media.
Sugabelly who had come out with her rape story in 2015 following the death of former Governor Abubakar Audu of Kogi State, claimed that the governor’s 7 sons all gang-raped her. And using his influence as governor, the Audu made sure her case was swept under the carpet.
According to her, she was met with negativity around that period, but her resilience paved the way for more people to be bold with their stories – as such, she deserves her accolades as she paid her dues.
As expected, the social media world reacted to these claims.

#IsYourManYourMan
In what is another trend of gbas gbos in the social media world this week, ladies went online to flaunt their boos, only to find out that their boo has a boo.
Well, we have no comments for these. Like a wise man once said, “it is what it is.”
Democracy Day 2020
Yesterday, Nigeria celebrated 21 years since it transitioned from military rule to democracy. The day which is always one for Nigerians to reminisce the transition, had a particular twist to the story on social media today.
It is also worthy of note that this is the first time Nigeria will be celebrating the Democracy day since it changed dates from May 29 to June 12 in honour of MKO Abiola.
However, today many Nigerians took to social media to lament the current state of the country as many described it as worse off than before. Thus the hashtag #BuhariHasFailedUs trended alongside #DemocracyDay.
While the situations may not be the best now, it can be better. And we must all come together to ensure that the labours of our heroes past shall never be in vain.
