This week, Òlòtūré became the first Nigerian movie to make it into the Netflix Global top 10. The Nigerian movie tells the story of an investigative journalist who poses as a sex worker to expose the horrific world of sex trafficking and women exploitation.

While many people lauded the movie for shedding a light on the ills of prostitution and sex trafficking, others were very critical about how it ended.

Man Spoils Bae With Birthday Gifts

A twitter user, Edidiong shared a post showing the many birthday gifts she received from her boo on her 22nd birthday.

The gifts included a picture frame, dresses, birthday cards, chocolates, a cake with dollars, MacBook, wine, money bouquet and a trip ticket to Maldives.

This prompted interesting reactions from other twitter users.

One twitter user, Olasunkanmi mentioned that men should strive to be rich and wealthy. “E get why,” he said – likely referring to a man being able to shower his bae with expensive gifts too. Another user, Haris replied that it is just undue pressure, maintaining that men should be ambitious for their own sakes.

Some people commended the lady’s boo for being romantic and creative with the gifts.
