All New OPPO Reno 5 Specs and Price Released Ahead of Launch in Nigeria

Reports have hinted that OPPO may be announcing 2 variants of the Reno 5 Series in March. Considering the current USD-NGN exchange rates, it appears more likely that Nigeria will be getting the Reno 5 and Reno 5F and the Reno 5 Pro will not be released here in Nigeria, for competitive pricing reasons.

It is also apparent that the 5G versions will not be sold here as 5G in Nigeria is still largely underdeveloped.

New leaks from Weibo suggest that these Reno 5 Series variants might just be the flagship killers Nigerians are looking for; a sweet way to pay less and get more.

Unconfirmed OPPO Reno 5 Series Specifications

The new leak suggests that the Reno5 may have a 6.43-inch AMOLED display, 1080p resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and have a punch-hole placed at the top-left corner. Whereas the Reno 5F is fitted with a 6.4-inch punchhole AMOLED Screen, OSIE (OPPO Screen Image Engine), All-day AI Eye Comfort and an In-Display Fingerprint unlock system.

Both the Reno 5 and Reno 5F are preloaded with the latest ColorOS 11, which is based on the new Android 11.

The Reno 5 series is fitted with 32-megapixel front-facing cameras. As per the leak, the Reno 5 has a quad-camera setup that includes a Sony IMX686 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a pair of 2-megapixel lens.

Powered by the Snapdragon 765G chipset, 4350 mAh Battery and 50W VOOC Flash Charging; the Reno5 promises to be a powerful device capable of taking on any tasks required by any kind of smartphone user.

We also gather that motion gestures will be available on the Reno5, where users will be able to control key activities on their phones without any form of contact necessary. We suspect it is OPPO’s way of using tech to combat the spread of Covid-19.

Unconfirmed Reno 5 Series Pricing & Availability

From the look of things, the Reno 5 would be selling around the N150,000 range, while the Reno 5F should go for about N120,000. Ordinarily, these phones would be cheaper but the recent exchange rate changes have been rather woeful. Fingers crossed on OPPO’s plan to makes these beasts available at the cheapest prices possible.

Nothing has been confirmed by OPPO Nigeria yet, so it is recommended to keep a close eye on their social media pages or better still check their website for confirmed updates.
