Today, Apple held its highly anticipated Spring Loaded event. As expected, the smartphone giant unveiled several new and interesting products. There was the surprising entry of a purple iPhone 12 & 12 minis and the unveiling of the next generation of iPads Pro and iMac but there was no Mac.
Other new additions to the family include the Apple TV 4k, AirTag and Apple Podcasts Subscriptions.
Similar to its last Apple event, Spring loaded was held virtually.

AirTag
Apple finally launched AirTags, its own smart tag to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy SmartTag. It has a customisable design, U1 Chip, IP67, built-in speaker, precision finding, unlimited tracking alert and Over a year of battery life.
The Bluetooth locator will be live in the Find My network and can be attached to anything from keys to wallets. The price at $29 each, or $99 for 4.
iMac
Another interesting product released was the redesigned iMac and accessories. The new iMac is ultra-thin (11.5mm thin) which is slimmer than the previous model. It now has an M1 chip and comes in an array of colours (7) instead of the usual white.

Other specs include a 1080p Facetime camera, 24″ 4.5K Retina Display, Incredible” new 6-speaker System with Dolby Atmos. and a processor that is up to 85% faster than the previous generation.
Its accessories include a magnetic power cord with an Ethernet cable, Up to 4x USB-C (2x Thunderbolt), macOS Big Sur and a Wireless Magic Keyboard which brings TouchID to the Mac desktop for the first time.
The new M1 iMac starts at $1,299, available in late May.
iPad Pro
one of the biggest announcements was the introduction of the 6.4mm thin New iPad Pro that comes with the Apple M1 Chip being used in the Macs. It was also equipped 12.9″ display with the Pro Display XDR technology “Liquid Retina XDR” and supports a millimetre wave.
Other specs include a whopping 2TB storage & 16GB Memory, 5G connectivity, a USB-C Thunderbolt port, 1,600 nits Peak Brightness, and Primary/Ultrawide + LiDAR -12MP Ultrawide Selfie Camera.
The device doesn’t come with the stand but you can buy the new white Magic Keyboard.
The 11 inch iPad Pro starts at $799 while the 12.9 inch starts at $1099. The device will be available from May 2021.
Apple TV 4K
The company also unveiled a slimmer Apple TV 4K with the A12 Bionic chip, which can play HDR at 4K High frame rates. It also has a new Colour Balance feature that will use the iPhone’s camera as a colourimeter.
Other additions are the upgrade to WiFi 6 and the addition of the much improved Apple Siri Remote. The price of the product will start at $179 for 32GB and $199 for 64GB. It will be available from May.
Apple Card Family
Apple Card will allow spouses and partners to merge and share credit lines. It can also be used by anyone in the family over the age of 13.
Apple Podcasts Subscriptions
Apple also introduced new podast subscriptions with renew content.
Purple iPhone 12 and 12 mini
Finally, the company flagship product iPhone got a new look with the introduction of a Purple iPhone 12 and 12 mini. It still has the fastest chip in a smartphone and a more colourful OLED display and ceramic shield for 4X better drop performance.
The device will be available from April 30.
In conclusion, Apple revealed that iOS 14.5, iPadOS 14.5, macOS 11.3, watchOS 7.4 and tvOS 14.5 will all be available next week,
