Bill Gates and Melinda Gates End 27-year Marriage
Microsoft co-founder, Bill Gates and his ex-wife, Melinda Gates shockingly announced their divorce during the week.
According to Forbes, the 65-year-old Gates is currently worth $131 billion. The Gates’ divorce could see Melinda receive up to $60 billion – more than MacKenzie Scott, Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife, who got about $35 billion at the time of her divorce.
Bill Gates already transferred over $2 billion worth of stocks to Melinda on the day of their divorce. The pair, who launched the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2000, will continue to work together at the foundation.
Reports say Bill Gates’ relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, caused major issues with Melinda during their marriage.
Dogecoin to the Moon
Elon Musk-backed memecoin, Dogecoin posted a surge in its price during the week as a buying frenzy saw it hit a new all-time high of $0.69. After hovering around $0.4 to $0.5, Dogecoin’s price jumped by about 52% to $0.69 within 24 hours on Wednesday.
Tesla CEO, Elon Musk and billionaire entrepreneur, Mark Cuban have been promoting Dogecoin on social media.
Dogecoin is currently trading at $0.583 and has gone up by 12,000% since the start of 2021. Investor confidence is high ahead of Elon Musk’s debut on NBC’s Saturday Night Live (SNL).
The world’s second most valuable crypto, Ethereum also shot to a record high above $3500 on Tuesday.
FG Extends NIN Registration Deadline for the 4th time
The Federal Government again extended the deadline for NIN-SIM verification to June 30, 2021.
It marked the 4th time an extension was announced and drew varying reactions from Nigerians across social media.
