Hello guys. I trust you’re already looking forward to a lovely weekend. There are a host of interesting stories that broke yesterday and Next Agenda is an update of the more interesting ones. So let’s go.
Crowwe applies for NBC license
Social media platform, Crowwe, has applied for a license of operation from the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC). This was revealed by the app’s owner, Adamu Garba during a chat with Punch.
Mr Garba also said the Crowwe app, which currently has about 31,245 users, would be restored back to the Google app store in a matter of days. He further said the app now has about 2,270 business accounts.
We have written a letter to the NBC applying for a licence in line with the Federal Government’s announcement but we have not yet received any response. If they don’t respond by Friday, we will send a second letter.
He also debunked claims that Google deleted the app from the play store because of any foul play. He said users complained about some lapses like the extent of data consumption so the company decided to take up some opportunities to do that. He claimed that those issues have been rectified and will be re-uploaded by Saturday.
Thousands sign petition to deny Jeff Bezos reentry into earth
If he eventually makes his trip into space, world’s richest man, Jeff Bezos may have to remain there forever. That is if more than 12,000 signatories of a Change.org petition has anything to say about it.
Recall that on June 7, the Amazon owner had announced his impending journey into space, describing it as a dream he had had since he was 5. Mr Bezos said he would be embarking on the journey through a sub-orbital flight with his brother, Mark, on July 20.
“Jeff Bezos is actually Lex Luthor, disguised as the supposed owner of a super successful online retail store.”
Petition
But more than 12,000 signatories think the billionaire might as well establish a permanent residence in space. In a petition, which is clearly jocular in nature and addressed to Blue Origin, producers of Mr Bezos’ sub-orbital ride into space, the petitioners claimed Mr Bezos’ trip is aimed at world domination and as such, the fate of the world is in Blue Origin’s hands.
