The DevFest Lagos 2021, tagged as the biggest developer festival has come to an end. The event which took place at the Landmark Centre Lagos featured sessions on Mental Health, Mobile, Design, Web, Cloud, DevOps, Machine Learning, etc.
DevFests are large-scale community-run events that offer speaker sessions across Google product areas, workshops, codelabs, or hackathons. This DevFest is organized by fellow developers who are organizers of several Google Developer Groups.
At the Lagos event, the sessions happened in parallel so participants were able to choose and plan to attend the sessions that fit their profile or things they’d like to learn about. The event was sponsored by a series of tech companies such as Google, Interswitch, Tek Experts, etc.

The event was graced with speakers from different sectors. One of such was the Senior Special Assistant to His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, on Digital Transformation, Oswald Osaretin Guobadia.
Lola Shehu, Senior Product Designer at Paystack and Kashifu Abdullahi, the Director-General of National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) are some of the other speakers that graced the event.
The women in tech session saw participation from a co-founder of Shuttlersng- Damilola Olekesusi and the founder of Femcode Africa, Shulamite John.
Social media users praised the Nigerian tech community for enabling access to the space.
The event also served as an avenue for opportunities and connections.
Attendants also had benefits like swag packs and discounts to tech courses offered by tech academies.
In all, the event was a great success for both physical and virtual audiences.
