Mobility company, Bolt, has introduced a new persona, Bella, and a recently published safety website to offer quality safety protection for riders and drivers on the platform, both to improve user experience.
Some of Bolt’s new features include mandatory training, a thorough verification process for drivers, insurance protection from the company, and an emergency safety toolbox.
In a statement, Bolt stated that they were thrilled with this new phase and hoped to continue to build on the community formed by the company’s prior persona, as the company hopes to provide a seamless, safe, and affordable service with this new persona.
Since our launch in Nigeria, ‘Uche’ has built a community of friends with Bolt riders and drivers. We want to build on Uche’s community and goodwill with a new persona who would remain committed to all our users. Therefore, we have introduced ‘Bella’ and our dedicated safety website. We are excited about this new phase because it means a better experience and safer journeys for our growing community of friends.

Customers’ reaction
Businesses have often discovered newer ways to make their brand stand out and customer-friendly, and for Bolt, Uche stepped in to create outstanding customer interactions for the company. The former persona also acted as an intermediary between drivers and riders, adding sort of a human element to the platform.
To many customers, Uche is that buddy that follows up with them on a regular basis while consistently sending out news and emails about discounts, campaigns, and so on.
Many individuals had grown accustomed to the old persona, Uche from Bolt, and the unexpected departure of their online friend came as something of a surprise.
