EBANX has appointed Wiza Jalakasi, a former vice-president at Chipper Cash as the new director of Africa market development at the fintech. Wiza Jalakasi has 13 years of experience building tech startups in the B2B and B2C spaces and would assist in expanding and developing the firm across the continent.
The Brazilian fintech company provides payment solutions to link Latin American customers with international businesses. The unicorn announced plans to expand its payment gateway solution and operations outside Latin America for the first time to Africa in September 2022.
Commenting on his new role, Jalakaski regarded his directive post as a tremendous opportunity to strengthen the reputation of the payments sector and the digital economy in Africa by supporting the connection of international players to a sizable market rife with opportunities.

EBANX disclosed that Jalakasi would assist in the expansion and development of the fintech’s performance across Africa and the links between its worldwide merchants and African consumers by providing in-depth knowledge of his expertise about Africa’s thriving digital industry.
