Billionaire CEO, Elon Musk has once again made headlines with his latest venture, xAI. On Wednesday, Musk announced the establishment of an artificial intelligence (AI) company, which aims to understand reality. Economic Time reports.
The launch of xAI’s website showcased a team of engineers who have previously worked at tech giants like Google and Microsoft, as well as OpenAI. The startup will be led by Musk, the CEO of Tesla and owner of Twitter, who has said on several occasions that the development of AI should be paused and that the sector needs regulation.
He believes that the rapid advancement of AI technology poses potential risks if left unregulated. With xAI, Musk intends to delve deeper into the realm of AI and gain a better understanding of its capabilities and implications.
“Announcing the formation of @xAI to understand reality,” Musk tweeted on Wednesday. This statement reflects his commitment to exploring the true potential and impact of AI on our society.
Also today, an official account of the new Musk-owned AI company, xAI made a tweet about the fundamental questions of life that were yet to be answered.
According to a state filing in Nevada, Musk registered a company called X.AI Corp in March. As per the filing, he is listed as the sole director while Jared Birchall, Managing Director of Musk’s family office, serves as secretary. This suggests that Musk is directly involved in overseeing the operations and direction of xAI.
Few details about xAI’s objectives and goals are revealed by the website’s launch. But, it does make mention of a July 14th Twitter Spaces event. This event might provide additional insight into xAI’s objectives and future plans.
As we await more details about xAI’s activities and research focus areas, it is clear that Elon Musk continues to be at the forefront of technological innovation.
