When we hosted the first Technext Coinference two years ago, we wanted innovators using the latest technology to provide solutions to share their insight and knowledge with other members of the African tech ecosystem. 

Themed “Reimaging the Future of Finance,” Technext Coinference 2021 provided a visible platform for key players in the African crypto ecosystem to discuss the possibilities of cryptocurrencies to position for future leverage. Founders and operators of Blockchain companies, government representatives, and other key regulators were present at the event, and over 2000 other attendees were part of history that day.

Prince Clem Akanade Agba, the Nigerian Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, delivered the first keynote address and Hanu Fejiro Agbodje, CEO of Patricia, delivered the 2nd keynote address. Panel speakers at the event include Uzoma Dozie, CEO of Sparkle; Buchi Okoro, CEO of Quidax; Dickson Nsofor, CEO of Korapay; Austin Okere, CEO of CWG; Nkemdili Uwaje, CEO of Future Software; and Chimezie Chuta, Founder of the Blockchain Nigeria User Group.

Other panel session speakers were Emmanuel Babalola, Africa Director at Binance and Interim CEO of Bundle; Modibe Matsepena, Senior Associate of Growth in Africa at Paxful; Founder of Aza Pay; Jacqueline Madu, Osamede Arhunmwunde, Co-founder & COO at Gigx technologies, and Bitmama CEO, Ruth Iselema.

Technext Coinference 2022

The second edition of the Technext Coinference was themed ​​”Blockchain and DeFi: Beyond the Hype,” and it was the biggest gathering of Africa’s Blockchain enthusiasts. All the possibilities of Blockchain, Crypto, Web3 and the Metaverse for Africa were discussed with keynote addresses from Hanu Fejiro Agbojide, CEO of Patricia, and Emmanuel Babalola.

Panellists including Efosa Ighodaro, Founder/CEO, Hashgreed; Oluchi Enebeli, Founder, Web3Ladies; Ayodeji Awosika, Founder, Web3Bridge; Famous Ehichioya, CTO, YouVerify; Sandi Bitenc, CEO, 3air; Obi Emetarom, CEO, Zone, and more spoke to the over 2500 attendees. 

Technext Coinference 2.0 also saw the introduction of “the celebrity spotlight” session, and Nollywood’s Akah Nnani discussed his foray into the world of digital currency and highlighted the massive opportunities that the blockchain industry presents for Africans, especially those that have been excluded from financial trading conversations for decades.

Technext Coinference 3.0: Disruptive Tech, new frontiers, new opportunities. 

Technology can disrupt an already established market by following a set of patterns. Over the past few years, blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, and other new trends have redefined how many Africans work and live.

This year’s Technext Coinference event will have two plenary keynotes, one plenary panel and four breakout panel sessions that will allow attendees to learn from diverse speakers and engage more on how to benefit from the latest trends in technology.

Here are the major highlights from Technext Coinference 2.0, #TNC2022

The event is billed to hold on Monday, the 2nd of October, 2023 (a public holiday in Nigeria) at the Landmark event Centre by 10 am.

The first keynote presentation: The challenges of a Blockchain-powered Economy, will set the tone for the event by discussing why African governments are dragging their feet when adopting blockchain technology. The breakout panel sessions will follow this. Each session will have 4 panellists with hands-on experience that will help attendees benefit from new trends such as artificial intelligence, gaming, and blockchain. 

They include:

  • Blockchain and AI: Opportunities Today and Tomorrow
  • How to make money from gaming
  • The future of entertainment with NFT and AI

.These breakout panel sessions will be followed by another plenary keynote address on New frontiers in Blockchain in Africa that will allow attendees to learn the latest trends in blockchain technology and a panel conversation on the future of payments in Africa which will feature a conversation between by five renowned innovators and payment experts.
