Unlocking Bard’s Full Potential
Since its initial release in February, Bard has been continuously evolving, thanks to valuable user feedback and advancements in the PaLM2 model. The model has been fine-tuned to be more intuitive, imaginative, and responsive, covering a vast array of languages and countries around the world.

Google is taking a significant step forward by expanding Bard’s capabilities through Bard Extensions. These extensions allow Bard to access real-time information from popular Google apps and services, such as Maps, YouTube, Hotels, and Flights. Users can seamlessly integrate information from multiple sources, making it easier and faster to bring ideas to life.
Extensions are enabled by default, but users have the option to disable them at any time. Moreover, Bard can now interact with information from Gmail, Docs, and Drive, enabling users to find, summarize, and answer questions across their personal content. It’s important to note that user data from Google Workspace won’t be used to train Bard’s public model, and users can disable this feature at their discretion.
Its Extensions offer a natural and intuitive way to access information from various apps and services, simplifying complex tasks. For example, users can ask Bard to look up flights for Valentine’s Day, find nearby flower shops, and even compose a romantic poem, all in a single conversation. While these features are currently available in English, The tech giant plans to expand them to other languages in the future.
This is the first step in a fundamentally new capability for Bard – the ability to talk to other apps and services to provide more helpful responses. This is a very young area of AI – we are still learning and iterating fast – but are excited to make these features available to users and get their feedback

Do more with Bard
The company acknowledges the challenges associated with large language models, including the presentation of inaccurate information. To address this, Google has integrated the power of Google Search into Bard, allowing users to double-check AI-generated responses.

When a statement can be evaluated, it will be highlighted in Bard’s response, and users can click to find similar or different content. It’s essential to understand that these links provided by Google Search do not imply that they informed Bard’s initial response.
With the power of Google Search, the [G] button can help you double-check Bard’s AI-generated responses by finding content that’s likely similar to or different from its statements. Starting with English, when a statement can be evaluated, you’ll see it highlighted in Bard’s response and can click to learn more.
Creativity often stems from the work of others, and Google aims to make it easier for users to use shared Bard conversations as a starting point for their creative explorations. When someone shares a Bard conversation through the public link-sharing feature, recipients can continue the conversation in their own accounts and build upon the existing content.
As part of the company’s commitment to responsible AI development, they are expanding access to existing English-language features across all 40+ supported languages and regions. Users can now upload images using Google Lens, receive Google Search images as responses, and modify Bard’s responses to suit their preferences.
“As we continue to build Bard responsibly, we’re now expanding access to existing English language features — you can upload images with Google Lens, get Google Search images in responses, and modify Bard’s responses to be simpler, longer, shorter, more professional or more casual in all 40+ supported languages and countries.”
This added flexibility gives users greater control over their creative processes, and the inclusion of images in prompts and responses opens up new avenues for creativity.
