Double blessing for Davido and Chioma
So Davido and his wife, Chioma have welcomed not one but two bundles of joy. So, there’s this viral video making rounds where Davido is just radiating happiness while showing off his adorable twins.
According to the video, they seemed to have just been leaving the hospital as Chioma while proudly holding those precious little ones and beaming from ear to ear was still seated in a wheelchair and dressed in something that looked like a hospital maternity wear.
For fans, this is more than just big news as it is especially heartwarming considering the couple faced a tragic loss last year when they lost their only son, Ifeanyi who drowned in the couple’s home.
Although, Davido and Chioma haven’t officially spilled the beans on this fantastic news. But, you know how it goes, when something big like this happens, it’s all over social media and the news in a flash.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Davido pleaded with people and fans to stop circulating old pictures. He still did not deny nor debunk the rumour at all. So, it’s a bit of a waiting game for the official word from the couple themselves, but we’re all here rooting for them and their new journey into parenthood.
Rest in Peace, Mama Wizkid
We all know that Wizkid lost his mother in August and it has been a rollercoaster of emotion for the music superstar. But this week was filled with some pretty emotional moments that went down at the service honouring Wizkid’s late mother and also the after-party.
The burial ceremonies in Lagos were pretty intense and of course, packed with influential figures. The whole family, including his manager, Jada P, and celebrities like Tiwa Savage were in attendance.
The candlelight procession was where it really hit home. Even Wizkid’s oldest son, Boluwatife, couldn’t hold back the tears over the loss of his grandmother. In that video posted on social media, Wizkid, sitting in the front row, noticed Boluwatife was in tears and got up to console him. But it wasn’t just Boluwatife. Wizkid himself shed tears several times during the ceremony.
In tons of videos making the rounds on social media, Wizkid was visibly overwhelmed by grief. You could just see the emotions pouring out behind those dark glasses he had on throughout the event.
However, the after-party event seemed to have been a lot easier for the superstar as he engaged actively in conversations while also dancing and laughing with people who were present at his mother’s celebration of life.
iPhone 8 girl: Who is at fault?
So, there’s been quite a stir over a young TikToker, ‘Pretty Yoruba Girl,’ who posted a video asking her parents for an iPhone 8 as a birthday gift. It turned into a big deal, here’s what went down.
She shared a 3-minute video captioned “POV: Your birthday is coming, and as a responsible girl, you asked your dad for an iPhone 8.” In the video, she’s in a car, and her dad’s voice is heard reprimanding her for wanting an iPhone instead of focusing on her studies.
He suggested she might need to sell her body to get one and called girls with such phones morally corrupt. He even compared her to those studying medicine, saying they didn’t prioritize iPhones before university education. Her mom agreed, questioning why her pastor’s child would ask for this.
As you can imagine, the video sparked lots of reactions. Some criticized the girl for her request, while others questioned the parents’ response. It became a debate with people offering to financially help the girl and gift her a better iPhone version.
It was all peace and quiet at the girl’s end but this week, she made a new video, where she expressed regret for asking for the iPhone and for posting the previous video. She said she didn’t expect it to go so viral and publicly admitted her mistake.
But trust social media fans to still have one or two cents to share. Who do you think is at fault? The parents or the girl?
Happie boys in Prison
Remember, the Happie Boys, those Chicken Republic ex-security guys turned internet sensations. Well according to reports, they landed themselves in some sort of hot legal mess in Cyprus.
Word on the street is they got arrested, although it is unsure what their crimes are or what they’re being charged with but this is definitely a buster alert especially as these guys have been in the news throughout this year.
For context, these guys were sacked from their place of work here in Nigeria because of their dancing activities during work hours especially as they were working as security guards in Nigeria. However, they danced their way into fame, and even scored scholarships to Cyprus, thanks to Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, the GO of Omega Power Ministries (OPM).
It was all fine and good but, here’s where it gets interesting, all of a sudden, they made a trending video where they accused the Apostle of leaving them high and dry in Cyprus. In the Apostle’s defence, he claimed he had suggested other options for them as regards their education due to financial constraints.
With this recent happening for the boys, trust social media fans. They took this week to dissect the whole situation. However, it seems as though the Apostle decided to extend an olive branch to the Happie Boys, despite the drama as he made a post offering them legal assistance.
