IHS Towers/Bosun Tijani’s 3MTT learning community partnership

The collaborative initiative, an important component of the newly launched 3MTT program, is poised to revolutionize technical education in Nigeria and potentially bridge the country’s skills gap.

Nigeria, like many African nations, faces a skills gap in the field of technology and digital innovation. With the rapid advancement of technology and an increasingly digital-driven economy, the need for a highly skilled technical workforce has never been more crucial. The 3MTT Learning Community partnership seeks to tackle this issue head-on.

One of the primary ways in which this partnership will impact technical education is by expanding access. The 3MTT Learning Community aims to set up learning communities in all 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). This project promises to bring technical education closer to aspiring learners across the entire nation, making it more accessible to a wider audience.

Another important aspect of the partnership will ensure the sustainability of these learning communities and also provide employment opportunities for skilled individuals who can guide and mentor learners.

Talking about practical and skill development, the 3MTT Learning Community is not just about theory; it is designed to provide practical, hands-on learning experiences. This approach is essential for addressing the skills gap effectively. Learners will be able to work on real-world projects, gain valuable experience, and develop the skills demanded by today’s technology-driven job market.

By facilitating this learning community, the partnership is set to empower a new generation of tech talent in Nigeria. This, in turn, can fuel innovation, drive economic growth, and position Nigeria as a hub for technical excellence.

The partnership between the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy and IHS Towers is not just a one-off initiative. It sets a model for future collaborations between the government and the private sector to strengthen technical education, making it more inclusive, practical, and in alignment with industry demands.
