Polytope Labs, founded by ex-core developers from prominent blockchain Ethereum & Polkadot (Seun Lanlege & David Salami), is a leading blockchain research & development lab which aims to solve fundamental infrastructure problems that pertain to interoperability, scalability & privacy in crypto and Web3.

In recent years, the startup has enjoyed a huge level of growth and acceptability in the global blockchain ecosystem. It has received support in funding ($130,000) and research & development grants from the Web3 foundation as well as the Polkadot network due to its insightful research into interoperability.

Also, the crypto firm’s founders have presented works of research at a handful of significant crypto events and conferences all over the world.

Some of them include ParisDOT.Comm event in Paris, Founders talk at Sub0 (a developer conference for Polkadot developers in Denmark) ZkSummit at the University of London (a Cryptography research conference), just to mention a few.

Here is a video of Seun Lanlege, speaking at the ZKSummit, at the Sub0 conference, and Paris Dot Comm event

Additionally, there are multiple research articles that have been published on the company’s blog. Polytope Labs continues to hold developers grooming and meetups in the ecosystem, to boot.

However, the company is not stopping. It continues to make giant strides towards more global growth and penetration. To achieve this aim, Polytope Labs has announced the launch of a new product, known as Hyperbridge.

Polytope Labs’ Hyperbridge

Hyperbridge is a protocol that enables secure cross-chain message passing. It does this by leveraging the full security of the blockchains involved through consensus-proof verification.

With a vision to connect all chains securely with Hyperbridge, the newly launched feature leverages the Polkadot network as a backbone for secure message passing. Hyperbridge provides a more secure bridge for asset transfers. Also, it provides an infrastructure for a new architecture of blockchain applications that have never been seen before.

One of the features that make Hyperbridge stand out from our cross-chain bridges is its unique eradication of intermediaries. Typically, bridges have always been built with intermediaries. These intermediaries are called attesters and they come to a consensus using a multi-party computation, in order to attest to the state of a connected chain.

Unfortunately, this architecture is the cause of the recent Multichain bridge exploit which has led to the loss of about $2 billion in crypto assets.

Hyperbridge, on the other hand, has no middlemen and is instead secured by the consensus guarantees of the chains involved. The highest level of security achievable in cross-chain bridges, according to wide acclaim.

Subsequently, Polytope Labs will be rolling out applications that will leverage Hyperbridge as a cross-chain message-passing layer. Also, Polytope Lab has been accelerating the blockchain community by hosting meetups where cutting-edge cryptography for blockchains was discussed, and the firm would continue to do more in that regard.
