Renowned musical artist and tech entrepreneur MI Abaga and the CEO of Casava Bode Pedro will appear in an engaging Keynote showcase titled Trust: The True Currency of Insurance at the upcoming Insurance Meets Tech Conference 2024 edition. The flagship event will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The showcase, which has become the pièce de résistance of this year’s conference, will see the duo explore the critical role of trust in the insurance and creative sectors, using insights from behavioural economics as a foundation.
Pedro will share personal anecdotes and lessons learned from his experiences at Casava, illustrating how insurance companies can cultivate long-term relationships based on trust. Abaga will draw from his extensive music and creative entrepreneurship career to highlight how trust has influenced his ventures.
The session, which promises to be interactive and encourage attendees to reflect on their own experiences with trust in their lives and businesses, is both timely and necessary following a recent Consumer Insight Tracker revealing a concerning confidence score of -24 in the insurance industry—where only 20% of consumers said they trust insurance companies to prioritize their best interests.
“Trust is not just a word; it’s the bedrock of sustainable business and meaningful relationships,” said Bode Pedro. As a pioneer in insurtech, Casava has built its foundation on earning and maintaining the trust of our customers. At IMT 3.0, I look forward to delving deeper into the strategies and philosophies that have enabled us to achieve this. I also want to share insights into how trust, as informed by behavioural economics, is truly the currency that drives success in both insurance and the creative sectors.”
“It is exciting to have Jude Abaga (MI), one of Africa’s most influential hip-hop artists and music producers, join Bode Pedro, the founder of Casava, for this highly anticipated fireside chat at the IMT 3.0 conference,” said Odion Aleobua, Convener of Insurance Meets Tech.
“MI’s influence in the music and entertainment industry and Bode Pedro’s expertise in tech and business will inspire discussions on creativity, innovation, and how both industries intersect with technology and insurance,”
Abaga, who is also the founder and CEO of TASCK, an agency offering professional representation and business management services to Africa’s top talents said: “Rebuilding trust is not only essential for the future of insurance but today’s business landscape in general. We need to create environments where consumers feel valued and understood.”
With insurance penetration in Nigeria still one of Africa’s lowest at below 1%, the fireside chat can be a pivotal moment for stakeholders in the insurance and technology sectors, and attendees can expect an insightful discussion that challenges traditional notions of trust while offering practical strategies for improvement.
