Today’s Tech Trivia spotlights Mainasara Nissi Adetutu, a Front-End Developer proving that tech innovation extends far beyond startups, gadgets, and venture-backed companies.

While many still associate technology primarily with fintechs and Silicon Valley-style startups, traditional industries like insurance are increasingly embracing digital transformation, and African Alliance Insurance PLC is part of that shift.

African Alliance Insurance PLC was established in 1960 and is widely recognised as Nigeria’s most experienced and strongest Specialist Life Assurance company, serving thousands of customers with personalised insurance products tailored for each stage of their lives.

At the Lagos-based life assurance company, Mainasara plays a key role in shaping digital experiences by building clean, responsive, and user-friendly websites that improve how customers interact with insurance products online.

A native of Kogi State and graduate of Crawford University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Mainasara has built her career around creating digital experiences that balance functionality with visual appeal.

Her tech journey began during her industrial training in 300-level, where she first learnt the fundamentals of ICT in 2023. She deepened her practical experience during her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in 2025, further strengthening her path into front-end development.

Driven by curiosity and a passion for continuous learning, Mainasara is focused on building impactful digital solutions and helping reshape how legacy industries use technology to better serve their customers.

1. Summarise your mornings in one sentence

My mornings are simple. I begin with Christian devotion, read a chapter of a book, prepare and head out for work as early as 8:00 am, and then fully settle into my day with research.

2. Describe your gadget setup

My gadget setup is quite minimal. I work mainly with my phone and laptop, which I use for coding, research, and managing my daily activities. I prefer keeping things simple and efficient, focusing more on getting my work done effectively!

3. What tech tools/ applications do you use the most for work?

I work with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end development. I also use VS Code as my main code editor, Figma for designing interfaces, and Chrome DevTools for testing and debugging. For research, I rely on Notion and Google Workspace.

4. What do you do when you need inspiration?

I ask the Holy Spirit for guidance, explore creative web designs online, read articles, watch tutorials, and sometimes reflect to let ideas come naturally. I also observe how people interact with websites and apps.

5. What mobile application can you not do without daily?

I can’t do without my Note app, please!

6. What tech solution do you wish someone had created?

A tech solution I wish someone had created would be a better UI/UX interface and system upgrade of the government websites and payment portals. They’re often slow, confusing, and not user-friendly.

I wish someone would redesign them to be smooth, simple, and easier for everyday users to navigate!

7. If you have unlimited time and money, what problem would you solve?

If I had unlimited time and money, I would build advanced tech solutions to detect and prevent fraud in the banking sector.

I’d focus on creating systems that are smarter, faster, and more secure, aiming to protect people from financial losses, enhance trust in digital transactions, and make banking safer and more reliable for everyone.

8. Which woman in tech inspires you the most?
Funke in tech
Funke Opeke

The woman in tech who inspires me the most is Funke Opeke, the founder and CEO of MainOne.

I admire her vision and determination in building one of Africa’s leading telecom infrastructure companies, creating solutions that connect people and empower businesses across the continent.

9. Which profound statement inspires you the most?

He that believeth shall not make haste (Isaiah 28:16). It reminds me to trust the process, be patient and let God guide my steps, even when I’m eager to see results quickly. Rushing ahead doesn’t produce results; it produces misalignment.

10. Whose women in tech trivia would you love to read?

That would be Funke Opeke!

Her journey in building MainOne and transforming Africa’s digital infrastructure is inspiring, and I’d enjoy learning more about the challenges she overcame and the impact she’s creating in the tech space!
