Moniepoint has acquired Orda Africa, a cloud-based restaurant management platform operating in Nigeria, the company confirmed on Monday.

The deal folds Orda into Moniebook, Moniepoint’s point-of-sale and business management platform, giving the fintech a direct play in a food service sector valued at $50 billion across the continent.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Moniepoint acquires Orda

Orda, founded in 2020, gives small and independent restaurants software tools to manage orders, track inventory, and run daily operations. The platform built its customer base among food businesses that had long run on manual processes and paper records.

For Moniepoint, the acquisition extends Moniebook beyond its current merchant base into a vertical it has not directly served before.

Moniebook launched its business management tools in 2025 and has since grown into a platform used by thousands of businesses seeking unified payments and bookkeeping.

What Moniepoint gets from the deal

Tosin Eniolorunda, co-founder and Group CEO of Moniepoint, said the acquisition reflects where the company sees its next growth phase.

“Data has shown us that Africa’s restaurant sector is one of the continent’s most dynamic economic engines, yet the majority of food businesses still operate with manual processes and fragmented tools,” he said. “By bringing Orda into Moniepoint, we are giving restaurant owners what they deserve: one simple platform that handles everything from managing their kitchen to growing their business.”

Nigeria’s food service market sits at the centre of Moniepoint’s rationale. The market is projected to reach $19.31 billion by 2030, growing at 11.73 percent annually, making it one of the largest single-country opportunities on the continent.

Orda CEO Guy Futi said the transition will not disrupt existing customers.

“For our customers, we are assuring a smooth transition with no disruption to the platform and retained access to the support you are used to,” he said. “What changes is your access to opportunities.”

Moniepoint’s scale at the time of the deal

Moniepoint was founded in 2015 by Eniolorunda and Felix Ike. The company has since grown into one of Nigeria’s largest financial services distributors, with more than 20 million active business and personal banking customers. It processes over $250 billion in digital payments annually across products spanning business banking, credit, cross-border payments, and merchant tools.

The Orda integration positions Moniepoint to offer restaurant operators a single platform covering order management, inventory tracking, supplier payments, and working capital access.
