Review: the Infinix Hot 60 Pro is surprisingly slim but incredibly stacked

Infinix Hot 60 Pro Review: Crazy Slim, Surprisingly Stacked

Some phones feel like a burden in your arms, but not the Infinix Hot 60 Pro.

At just 6.6 mm, the phone is one of the slimmest smartphones I’ve ever used. But don’t let the featherweight build fool you. Inside this frame, Infinix managed to fit a 5,160mAh battery, a 144Hz AMOLED display, speakers, and a camera setup that punches above its price.

All of that, for under ₦275,000 or $200. So, is it just a pretty face, or is this mobile phone worth your money?

Let us break it down.

Unboxing the Infinix Hot 60 Pro: Everything that you need

The packaging is clean, with a few major specs printed up front. Inside the box, you’re not short on accessories, which is already a good sign at this price point.

You will get:

  • A 45W fast charger
  • USB-C charging cable
  • Wired USB-C earpiece
  • SIM ejector tool
  • Screen protector with an installation guide
  • Transparent protective case
  • And some stickers and booklets you probably won’t read

It’s the kind of unboxing experience that sets you up nicely without needing extras.

Design: Thin, Light, and Premium

Let’s talk about the showstopper, the design.

At 6.6 mm thick, the Hot 60 Pro is one of the world’s thinnest smartphones. To put that in perspective, it’s about the same thickness as five or six ID cards stacked together. It’s also light at just 170 grams, but it doesn’t feel cheap or hollow.

Infinix used a fibreglass back paired with an aluminium chassis, which keeps the phone strong without adding weight. The front screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. And, it comes with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.

Hardware-wise, here’s the breakdown:

  • On the right side, you’ll find the volume rockers, a power button, and a dedicated Folax AI assistant button, which also doubles as a camera shutter.
  • The left side is clean except for the SIM tray.
  • Up top, there’s a speaker grill.
  • Down below, you’ll find the USB-C port, a microphone, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and the second speaker grill.
At just 6.6 mm, the Infinix Hot 60 Pro is one of the slimmest smartphones.

I’ve been using the Titanium Silver variant, but other colour options like Cyber Green and Sonic Yellow add a bold pop of personality. I’d use this phone without the case just to show off how thin and slick it is, but that’s just me.

Display: Seriously impressive

Honestly, I think that the display is one of the best parts of the Infinix Hot 60 Pro.

You’re getting a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a crisp 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness goes up to 4,500 nits, and it supports Always-On Display, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and is covered with Gorilla Glass 7i.

Bezels are super slim and even, and the punch-hole selfie cam is nicely tucked away. It doesn’t distract from content or gameplay.

One small thing to note: the screen doesn’t always stay at 144Hz. Depending on the app, it switches between 60Hz, 90Hz, and 144Hz to save power. Still, animations and scrolling feel smooth throughout.

Audio: slim build, big sound

The Infinix Hot 60 Pro may be thin, but the sound is anything but weak.

You get dual speakers that sound full. Clear vocals, decent bass, and no strange distortions. Whether you’re watching YouTube, listening to music, or gaming, the speakers hold up.

Also, there is a headphone jack, which is a thoughtful addition and works great out of the box.

Cameras: Feature-Packed and Capable

Let us start with the rear camera. The Infinix Hot 60 Pro has a 50MP sensor, and the results are solid. Images are sharp and well-exposed, and colours are surprisingly natural.

In good lighting, the Infinix Hot 60 Pro gives you punchy, share-ready photos. Portrait mode does a decent job with edge detection and background blur, and you can manually adjust the aperture for a more pro-style shot.

The camera features include:

  • HDR mode for better contrast and exposure
  • Lens distortion correction to reduce weird stretching on wide shots
  • A horizontal leveller that helps you shoot straight photos
  • Gesture and voice controls so you can snap photos by saying “cheese” or showing your palm
  • AI Portrait Enhancer, which smoothens skin but can be turned off if you want a more natural look

Both the front and rear cameras can shoot up to 2K at 30 fps and 1080p at 60fps, which is impressive for a phone in this range. You also get Ultra Steady mode, which helps reduce camera shake in handheld video.

On the front, there’s a 13MP selfie camera. When the lighting is right, it delivers bright, clean shots. Inconsistent at times, yes, but it performs well enough for everyday use. There’s also a screen flash for those late-night selfie moments.

The camera won’t replace a DSLR or high-end flagship, but it’s great for social media, casual photos, and video calls.

One feature that’s worth mentioning is Ultralink. It’s a kind of walkie-talkie system that works between Infinix phones without using airtime. You can send voice messages or make Bluetooth-powered calls to nearby devices within 50 to 100 metres.

It’s not a must-have, but it’s a cool touch, especially if you and your friends are both using Infinix phones.

Performance: Snappy and Game-Ready

Under the hood, the Hot 60 Pro runs on the MediaTek Helio G200, a 6nm chip that’s well-optimised for budget performance. Paired with Android 15 and XOS 15.1.1, it feels smooth, clean, and responsive.

You get 8GB of RAM, which can be expanded up to 16GB via memory fusion, and storage options of 128GB or 256GB (UFS 2.2).

In everyday use, the Infinix Hot 60 Pro handles multitasking, app switching, and browsing without breaking a sweat. I also tried games like Call of Duty Mobile, and they ran fine at medium settings. There’s a dedicated game mode that blocks distractions and optimises performance, and multitasking features like split screen and pop-ups work well.

AI Features: Smarter Than You’d Expect

As it’s been recently, the XOS on the Infinix Hot 60 brings a range of AI tools that are genuinely useful:

  • AI Eraser and AI Extender in the gallery
  • AI Sharpness Enhancer for fixing soft images
  • A smarter AI Assistant and Google Circle to search for quick lookups

Most of these features require an internet connection, but for a phone at this price, it’s great to see this level of intelligent software support.

Battery: Way Better Than Expected

The 5,160mAh battery is impressive considering how slim the Infinix Hot 60 Pro is.

Even with heavy use—YouTube, gaming, full brightness—it easily lasted me a day. And if you’re a lighter user, you’ll probably stretch it into a second day.

Charging is fast, too. Using the included 45W charger, you’ll get:

  • 0 to 50% in about 13 to 22 minutes
  • A full charge in just over one hour

It also supports 10W reverse charging, so you can top up a friend’s phone in a pinch.

Final Verdict

The Infinix Hot 60 Pro is one of the most well-rounded budget phones I’ve seen in a while. The display is stunning, the speakers sound great, the performance is smooth, and the battery is solid.

Yes, the build might feel a little delicate if you’re rough on your devices. And the front camera isn’t perfect. But for around ₦260K to ₦275K, or under $200, the Infinix Hot 60 Pro is offering a lot.

It’s a reminder that budget phones don’t have to feel like compromises. This one feels like a quiet flex.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely. Especially if you value sleek design, solid specs, and great value for money.
