Paga Group, a leading force in Africa’s payments and financial services sector, launched Doroki today, June 19, 2025, a transformative cloud-based platform designed to streamline operations for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

The event, held at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Victoria Island, drew media personnel to witness the unveiling of a tool poised to redefine retail business management in Nigeria.

Doroki consolidates order management, inventory tracking, payments, and customer engagement into a single, intuitive interface, enabling SMEs to focus on growth rather than operational complexities.

The launch marks a significant milestone for the Group, which has served millions across Africa since its founding in 2009. Doroki, a sister company to Paga, targets established and growth-focused SMEs, including retail, restaurants (fine dining and quick-service), salons, spas, and grocery stores.

The platform, built in partnership with QueueBuster, blends global-grade retail software with Nigeria’s robust local payment infrastructure, offering a seamless, scalable solution for businesses navigating a fast-paced economy.

Tayo Oviosu, Founder and CEO of Paga Group, underscored Doroki’s mission during his keynote address. He highlighted the challenges SMEs face, such as managing stock, tracking sales, reconciling payments, and retaining customers.

Doroki simplifies operations,” Oviosu stated. “It provdies actionable insights, and helps businesses scale with confidence.”

He outlined ambitious goals, aiming for Doroki to reach 10,000 businesses within a year. Oviosu clarified that the platform currently targets SMEs with a certain level of operational maturity, possibly registered businesses with daily transactions averaging ₦10,000 and monthly sales exceeding ₦2 million.

The focus is on ambitious entrepreneurs looking to digitise and grow smartly, noting plans to eventually extend its reach to smaller market segments.

Arike Okunowo, General Manager of the new enterprise, emphasised the platform’s user-centric design.

We built Doroki by listening to real business owners,” she said. “From restaurant owners grappling with recipe consistency to retailers managing stock shortages and product expirations, it delivers tailored solutions.”

The platform’s versatility supports diverse sectors, ensuring businesses in retail, hospitality, and services can streamline operations and enhance customer experiences.

Doroki’s will address the multifaceted needs of SMEs

Key features include a digital storefront (eStore) for creating and managing online stores in minutes, real-time inventory control with low-stock alerts, and menu and recipe management for food businesses to maintain consistency and reduce waste.

The platform also offers flexible payment options, accepting cash, card, USSD, QR, and Paga mobile payments, with real-time settlements via trusted channels.

Customer relationship management (CRM) and loyalty programs help businesses build lasting connections, while powerful analytics provide data-driven insights for decision-making. Multi-user access allows staff to manage tasks with clear roles and permissions, enhancing accountability.

The platform’s competitive edge lies in its affordability, comprehensive functionality, and local relevance. Unlike other solutions, Doroki integrates operations and payments into one app, offering subscription and transaction pricing tailored to Nigerian SMEs.

Its integration flexibility allows syncing with other platforms, not limited to Paga, and robust in-app and local customer support ensures reliability. It also supports offline transactions, ensuring business continuity regardless of internet availability, a critical feature for Nigeria’s variable connectivity landscape.

Businesses can access Doroki via the Android Play Store or learn more at www.doroki.com. The platform’s customisable licences allow users to activate, transfer, or scale across devices seamlessly, supporting SMEs with multiple employees or locations.

Financial reporting and reconciliation tools simplify accounting, exporting data for easy compliance. An API is available for developers, enabling further customisation and integration with existing systems.

Doroki also signals future ambitions, with plans to offer small loans to SMEs, addressing a critical need for capital among growth-focused businesses.

That aligns with Paga Group’s broader mission to power Africa’s growing middle class and facilitate global trade. The company operates three business units: Paga Engine (B2B enterprise solutions), Paga (consumer payments), and Doroki (SME retail).

By 2024, Paga says it has processed transactions worth ₦14 trillion in the last 15 years, underscoring its robust infrastructure, which Doroki leverages for secure, instant transactions.
