Finding someone reliable shouldn’t feel like detective work
You know the situation. Something in the house stops working and suddenly you need a plumber. You need an electrician before the weekend. You’re moving and need extra hands. Or you simply want a cleaner, painter, AC technician or beauty professional you can actually trust.
Then the search begins: asking friends for numbers, posting in WhatsApp groups, scrolling through Instagram, calling three different people and hoping at least one shows up.
And even when someone comes recommended, there are still questions. Are they actually skilled? Will they show up? Is the price fair? What happens if the job goes wrong? What if you need help after you’ve already paid?
On the other side of that problem are thousands of skilled Nigerians who know how to do the work but struggle to consistently find customers. Their skills may be excellent, but their visibility is often limited to word of mouth, personal contacts and social media.
Taskie was built around a simple question: what if finding trusted help could be as easy as booking almost anything else online?
Meet Taskie
Taskie is a Nigerian digital marketplace connecting customers with verified skilled professionals for everyday services. Customers can discover professionals, review their profiles, request a job, communicate with them, receive invoices, pay through the platform and get support if anything goes wrong.
For professionals, known as Taskers, the platform creates another way to be discovered, receive job opportunities, build a reputation through customer ratings and grow their income.
The idea is straightforward: less time searching, less uncertainty and more getting things done.
So, how does Taskie work?
The experience is designed to be simple enough that a customer can go from “I need someone” to “the job is done” without juggling multiple apps, phone numbers and conversations.
1. Find the service you need.
Customers search for a service or choose from categories such as plumbing, electrical work, cleaning, painting, generator services, AC services, carpentry, moving and beauty services.
2. Browse professionals.
Customers can review available Taskers and consider their profiles, experience, ratings and suitability for the job.
3. Send a request.
The customer shares the job details, preferred time and location, and can add photos or other information that helps the professional understand the task.
4. Chat and agree on the job.
Customers and Taskers can communicate in the app, clarify the scope of work and agree on pricing. Taskers can then send an invoice.
5. Pay and get it done.
Once the invoice is paid through Taskie, the booking is confirmed. The Tasker completes the work and the customer confirms the job.
6. Rate the experience.
Customers can leave a rating and review after a completed job, helping future customers make more informed decisions and helping good Taskers build their reputation.

Built around trust, not just convenience
Taskie believes that convenience only matters when customers can feel confident about who they are hiring.
Taskers go through a verification process designed to establish their identity and skills before they can take bookings. The platform also keeps communication, invoices and payments inside Taskie, giving both sides a record of the transaction.
Customers pay a 7.5% Trust & Support Fee on their booking, capped at ₦10,000. The fee supports verification, secure payment processing, dispute resolution and the systems that keep bookings on the platform. Taskie also has a dispute process for situations where a booking does not go as expected.
That matters because the goal isn’t simply to help people find a professional. It is to make the entire experience from the first search to payment and completion more reliable.
A marketplace for skills Nigerians already have
Taskie is not trying to convince Nigerians to start learning new skills. It is trying to make the skills that already exist easier to discover.
The platform currently supports a growing range of services, including plumbing, electrical work, cleaning, painting, solar services, generator repairs, AC services, carpentry, moving help, beauty and personal care, and other everyday needs.
For a skilled professional, being good at your job should be enough to get you started, not having a large social media following or knowing the right person.
From an idea to a growing marketplace
Taskie launched publicly in October 2026 after months of building, testing and onboarding professionals across Nigeria.
In its early weeks, the platform has already onboarded more than 100 skilled professionals, with more applications continuing to come in. Customers have also begun using the platform to book services, with more than 40 bookings recorded so far and 15+ jobs have already been completed, giving Taskie its first real customer feedback and, importantly, an average rating of about 5 stars on completed jobs.
For a young marketplace, those early interactions matter. Every completed job gives the team another chance to learn what customers expect, what professionals need and where the product can become better.

The ambition goes beyond booking a plumber
Taskie’s immediate goal is to make it easier for Nigerians to find reliable professionals for the everyday tasks that keep homes, businesses and lives moving.
But the bigger ambition is much larger.
Taskie wants to build the trusted infrastructure for everyday services across Africa. A place where a skilled professional can turn their expertise into consistent opportunities, and where customers can find the help they need without relying entirely on personal referrals.
The platform is currently available across Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Akure, Port Harcourt, Warri, Benin City and Kano, with more locations planned.
As the network grows, Taskie hopes to create something bigger than a directory of service providers: a trusted marketplace where reputation, quality and reliability can travel with a professional.
“We want to make finding help easier”
“We started Taskie because finding reliable help for everyday tasks should not feel harder than the task itself. There are incredibly talented professionals across Nigeria, but customers often don’t have an easy way to discover them, while those professionals can struggle to find consistent opportunities. We want to solve both sides of that problem. Our ambition is to make Taskie a platform Nigerians can trust whenever they need something done and eventually build that trust across Africa.”
— Olu Olumolawa, Founder & CEO, Taskie
For Olumolawa, the idea is also personal. Growing up around entrepreneurs in Nigeria, he saw firsthand how families often relied on referrals and informal relationships to find plumbers, electricians and other professionals and how quickly things could go wrong when trust was missing.
Taskie is his attempt to bring a more structured, technology-enabled experience to a market Nigerians already use every day.
What comes next?
For now, Taskie is focused on one thing: getting more Nigerians to try the platform and proving that finding trusted help can be simpler.
That means growing its network of verified professionals, increasing completed bookings, improving the customer experience and expanding into more cities.
And if the early traction is any indication, there is a lot of room to grow.
Because somewhere in Nigeria, someone is probably staring at a leaking pipe, a broken appliance, an empty apartment that needs cleaning, or a move that needs an extra pair of hands.
The question is no longer, “Who do you know that can do this?”
It could soon be: “Have you checked Taskie?”
