The hugely popular caller ID app, Truecaller, has launched a set of new features for its Android app. These new features include Simple Copy OTP, improvements to Flash messaging and, most importantly, the introduction of Truecaller Backup for Android.
The Truecaller Backup for Android feature would simplify user transition and allow users to backup and restore their contacts, call logs, blacklists, and other settings. This feature is important when Android users change devices, lose their sim cards, reset their devices or re-install the Truecaller app. The feature connects with Google Drive to reduce the chances of data loss.
This had been one of the most requested features by Truecaller users and according to this report by Independent Nigeria the company has said this feature would be available in a few days.
Another newly added feature is the Truecaller Contacts. This feature saves a user’s entire call log and SMS record. Months old contacts and records remain accessible even if the contacts were not saved.
Simple Copy OTP is another feature that was recently added. The Simple Copy OTP is a feature that uses a shortcut to give users a one-tap method to copy OTP directly from the notification received on their devices.
The existing Flash messaging feature also received some new features too. The Flash messaging sends pre-defined messages informing recipient when a user is busy or unavailable to take a call. The new feature for Flash messaging spots a new design and a shorter delivery time for messages.
