Valentine’s day is always very special. It’s certainly a lovely one. And is one day that has plenty of goodies from several companies. This year was no different. It was very special to a lot of Lagosians. The traffic that emanated from the dash on Wednesday testifies to this fact:
With the kind of traffic on the island.. I will advise you to not leave you your office..

In a bid to make the day count, a number of tech companies made efforts to reach out to their customers with special treats.
Clark from Invision, AnnaBelle from Pluralsight, Taco from Trello, Bryan from Code Climate, Morgan from Pivotal Tracker, Andy from Tettra, Uche from Taxify, Bisola from https://t.co/1dVz1VX6Pc, Abdul from Paystack, Tunde from Printivo, Henry from Paylater.

In this piece, I have put together a list of those that have done well in my estimation.
Flutterwave
On Valentine’s Day, Flutterwave launched one of the best offers in town. The mobile payment platform is giving customers a 10% discount anytime they complete a transaction.
Flutterwave operates the Rave payment platform. And this gateway is hugely popular, nd is used by the likes of Hotels.ng and Chisco Transport. Whenever a customer pays for services from Hotels.ng or Chisco, Flutterwave would give them a 10% discount.
This offer started on February 13 and would end on March 12, 2018.
Taxify
Another interesting Valentine’s day offer was given by a ride-hailing service provider, Taxify. Taxify had a very Valentine’s Day. It gave out free cupcakes to literally hundreds of customers on the 14th of February.

The catch was that you had to get the Taxify app and click on the love icon to place your order for the cupcakes You could order for yourself or for a loved one.

The cupcake delivery was restricted to people within Lagos and Abuja. And it also lasted two hours each in both locations.
Uber Nigeria
Uber on the other hand also had a fun Valentine’s Day. The company’s executives paid a lovely visit to Modupe Cole Memorial Child Care. This is a child care and treatment home located in Akoka, Yaba.

Interestingly, Uber is not done with its Valentine offers yet. Presently, the company is giving free tickets to watch the newly released Black Panther movie at the cinema.

Here’s what you have to do to win a ticket:
All you have to do is enter the promo code “UBERCINEMALAGOS” in the promotion section of the Uber app and take a minimum of two rides between today and Sunday, 18th of February.

Apparently, the battle for customer retention has been taken to a new height by this recent show of love. The tech community, yet once again, has shown the entire business clime how to do business the new generation way.
Kudos guys!
