Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Meta, has been spotted training with Israel Adesanya, the UFC middleweight champion also known as the last style bender ahead of the caged fight between Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, Tesla CEO.

In a joint post on Instagram shared on Tuesday, Zuckerberg and Adesanya were seen posing alongside Alexander Volkanovski, UFC featherweight champion, in the gymnasium after a workout/sparring session.

In the pictures, the trio are bare-chested and geared for a contest, with Zuckerberg looking sweat-drenched. The post was captioned: “No Fugazi with Mark. This is serious business!”.

In the comment section, the Meta CEO said, “It was an honour to train with you guys!”.

Israel Adesanya who is billed to fight South Africa’s Dricus Du Plessis in the UFC title fight also took to his Twitter page this morning to post pictures of the two locked in training with the caption, “We both have South Africans to deal with.”

The proposed cage fight between Zuckerberg and Musk

The latest development comes amid a constant teaser of a potential mixed martial art (MMA) bout between Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, the billionaire founder of Tesla Inc.

The catalyst for this unexpected turn of events was a Twitter user, Mario Nawfal, announcing that Meta, was set to release a new platform called THREADS. Musk, never one to shy away from expressing his thoughts, had some remarks regarding Meta’s new project. The exchange intensified when another Twitter user cautioned Musk about Zuckerberg’s proficiency in ju-jitsu, to which Musk suggested a cage fight.

Mark Zuckerberg, taking to his Facebook status, confirmed his readiness for the challenge with a simple declaration, “Send me the location.” This clash between tech CEOs has captivated the public’s attention, and anticipation of the potential clash continues to grow.

A few weeks later Meta launched Threads, a new text-based social media platform to rival Twitter days after Musk announced that a temporary limit had been imposed on the number of posts users can read daily on Twitter.

In response, Twitter threatened Meta with a lawsuit over “the unlawful misappropriation” of its trade secrets.

Technext had earlier reported that Khai Wu, a highly skilled mixed martial artist, and former competitor at Bellator, a mixed martial arts promotion, has been diligently honing the Meta CEO’s combat skills since 2022. However, the social media guru seems to have upgraded on his training partners by sparring with UFC champions like Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski.
