X, formerly known as Twitter, has restored the account of Kanye West after suspending it for Eight months. Kanye who is a rapper, businessperson, and ex-husband to one of the most famous American celebrities, Kim Kardashian, was suspended from X after he posted a picture of a Swastika merged with the Star of David amid all of his other allegations.
Ye tweeted a succession of content and uploaded photographs that violated the platform’s rules. For this reason, Ye was reportedly suspended for incitement of policy. The American rapper also posted an unflattering image of Elon Musk which could have also resulted in his suspension. However, the CEO of X, Elon, indicated that the rapper was banned for other reasons.
Kanye West is yet to make any posts since his account was unbanned as reports suggest the account was only reinstated when he promised not to publish antisemitic or racist information.

Is Kanye West’s X account the first to be reinstated?
Ever since Musk became the CEO of X, he has posted on the platform some contentious decisions regarding restoring specific accounts. Former US President Donald Trump, influencer Andrew Tate, who was also banned from the platform for making misogynistic remarks, and also an American scholar Jordan Peterson are on the list.
X suspends accounts from its social networking service, either temporarily or permanently. However, suspensions of high-profile accounts frequently garner media attention. Users who are suspended from Twitter due to alleged violations of Twitter’s terms of service are not always informed of which of their tweets caused the suspension.
Following Elon Musk’s purchase of Twitter in October 2022, it was stated that the platform intended to discontinue the usage of permanent suspensions. Musk stated in November 2022 that accounts that participate in impersonation and hate speech amid other vile activities without a “clear” parody designation would be permanently terminated without notice.
In November 2022, Musk delegated content moderation choices to the platform, allowing journalists like Andy Ngo to report anti-fascist accounts directly to him. A group that offers armed security for LGBT events, accounts mocking Elon Musk, and a Palestinian news site known for criticizing the Israeli military were among those suspended.
X has had quite some numbers of its users’ accounts come under fire since its rule and policies. Dominick McGee’s account which was suspended for tweeting an image of child abuse recently got reinstated. However, this incited controversies.
What can get you banned on X?
X made it clear at the beginning of this year that an account will only get banned when a user violates the rules or has repeatedly violated the rules even after receiving notifications from the platform. Also, permanent suspensions will mean that users will not be allowed to create new content.
