X, the social networking platform formerly known as Twitter, is set to redefine the way we connect and communicate with the introduction of video calls. According to a report, Linda Yaccarino, the CEO of X, confirmed this exciting development during her first TV interview since assuming the role.

“Soon you’ll be able to make video chat calls without having to give your phone number to anyone on the platform,” Yaccarino told CNBC’s Sara Eisen.

This is another pivotal step in the platform’s evolution into what she termed an “everything app.” The announcement came as a revelation to the online community and technology enthusiasts alike, as X continues to expand its offerings beyond its traditional microblogging roots.

Yaccarino’s interview with CNBC’s Sara Eisen shed light on the future of X, where video calls will play an integral role. This new feature is poised to redefine social interactions, enabling users to engage face-to-face without divulging personal phone numbers to others on the platform.

Linda Yaccarino, the new CEO of X, has promised to introduce new ideas and innovations into the company’s trajectory with Elon Musk. It has already triggered a chain reaction of improvements, like the introduction of long-form videos and creator subscriptions.

Also, Andrea Conray, a designer at X heightened interest with a cryptic social media post that sparked rumours about the upcoming video call features.

The internet community reacted well to Conway’s tweet, “Just called someone on X,” which was accompanied by head-exploding emojis. Although there was some space for interpretation when the message was first made

It is unsure how this video call feature will operate and if it will be only for Twitter Blue subscribers or if there will be some limitations for free users. While concrete information has not been shared about this feature, it is now a crystal-clear sign that video and phone call capabilities are actively being developed.

The evolution of X into an “everything app” goes beyond video calls. There have been intriguing hints of X’s future ambitions, such as novel methods for payments and financial interactions on the platform.

This comprehensive extension and complete transformation of Twitter to X emphasizes Elon Musk’s dedication to giving social media users an all-in-one app, that integrates different facets of their digital lives.

One of the major highlights of the new app is the introduction of Creator Payments. With this feature, content creators subscribed to Twitter Blue can now start earning. This unique feature means that every visit to a creator’s profile can potentially translate into earnings.

Other decisions that X is looking to incorporate include a dating feature, recruitment, and job board posting. With X having Video calls, this is set to alter social networking once more by providing a fresh method of connection, communication and establishing long-lasting connections.

According to a tweet conversation by an X user and Andrea Conray, they are looking forward to X replacing Microsoft Teams. Although there is no current speculation on that.

However, in the coming months, the future of social networking is about to take a new turn and X seems to be at the forefront of this exciting transformation.
